Album analysis Florence and the machine - Ceremonials

‘Ceremonials’ was the second studio album of Florence and the Machine a successful British band that came to the Medias light in 20**. This album cover is vastly different to that of her first studio album. Unlike the first album this is far more metallic and artificial while her first album was more earthy and natural. This is reflected in the colour scheme that is used. A lot of dark and iron like tones are used; blue, black, silver and gold. This cover is a lot more voureistic in the sense that her image is reproduced though mirrors which allow you to see her at different angles. This would be appealing for a far because you would feel closeness towards her due to the vast amount of images that you have. The theme of the album cover is cleverly worked by the designers. Later this year the Great Gatsby is going to be shown in cinema. The hype surrounding this has already shot straight to fashion where many fashion houses have released their very own flapper lines and 1920’s style dresses shoes. Florence’s album cleverly coincides with this meaning that those in the i.e. the fashion world would be drawn to.  The projection of her image in this way is a way in which she can already ‘debrief’ the audience on how the album will sound. The overall feel of the album in cold and lonely to me, isolation can be seen as a big theme such as romance and tragic love stories.
